Lots of possibilities, not enough info. You need to plug in a scan tool and start reading sensor data to diagnose this.
Main 3 things I can think of:
-IAC valve malfunction
-One or more cylinders completely dead requiring the higher rpm so the engine doesnt stall when it goes through those cylinders
-A key fueling sensor is messing up (MAF, O2, etc) and is sending bad data. As with the above it could be generating random misfires which cause the engine to stall at idle, but higher rpm gives the engine enough momentum to not die missing them at higher rpm
Theres just no way to accurately diagnose this without you going through the basic diagnostic steps first to see what the sensors are saying.
