I have a 2000 monte carlo SS 3.6L and I'm having an issues with the factory security system (passlock). When I lock the doors and leave my car, at a random time, my alarm with go off with the lights flashing and the horn going off. Nobody touched/hit the car (my car is right outside my window not even 3 feet away). Last night I disconnected the battery post overnight to see if maybe that would reset it, but same thing happened. I even tried turning off the alarm through the radio display options (like where to reset the oil and tire monitors), select "off", then properly exit the display. I left the car, and I think it works as far as not making the alarm randomly go off again, however as soon as I open the doors again and check the radio display options, the alarm feature is back to "on". Any ideas on how to correct this problem? My neighbours are getting angry!
