Default 2000 Monte Carlo Crank Shaft Sensor Trouble

My son's car: We replaced the crank shaft sensor the 1st time with a use part from a pull a part place, ran great for a month or so. 2cd time we got a new one from the part store, 2 weeks no problems, ran great. Then it stalled again and for the most part will not start at all. We got it to run for about 10 minutes the other day, then it stalled. Then it ran for a minute or so a couple of hours later. Had a mechanic friend look over all the wiring, etc..., it all looks good.

any ideas for me?

have a scan tool hooked up to it...watch the readings until before it stalls and see if the crankshaft sensor is losing signal...if it is, get a GM sensor and try that...also, i would also hook a fuel pressure tester...when it stalls, check the fuel pressure...it shouldn't drop when it stalls...
