Thumbs down 1999 Z34 Leaking Tranny and Hard Shift

I have a 1999 Monte Carlo Z34 with 168k miles on it. Last August it simultaneously started leaking tranny fluid and started hard shifting (after warm-up). I can't find anything specific to this model/year or anything chevy related... So this might just be a car question, are the leaking and the hard shifting related (probably) and is it worth checking out/fixing if the car is worth all of $2000. Let me know!

I would assume that you're problems are related. Have you checked the tranny's gasket yet?

Find out where its leaking from and make sure it has enough fluid.

Default Update

Hi Guys,
Thanks for sending the notes:
  1. I haven't checked any gasket yet, I really parked it for about 6 months now (after buying a newer car). The tranny pan gasket or? What do you think replacing one of those is going to cost? I plan on selling it and wondering if its worth fixing.
  2. I haven't added any tranny fluid since the tranny flush I did at 100k. It is still at the full line. Its pretty central dropping, but if I had to choose a side, its the passenger side.
Let me know what you think on this! Thanks Again!
