1988 ss bumper question
Hey,
I got in a pretty bad accident a little while back and just got my body parts finally. Got my hood and fender on perfect, line up great and no problems at all. The bad part is that my bumper mounts or possibly frame is bent and my bumper is pushed over about 4 inches so I couldn't get the cover on. Will driving without the actual bumper, and the cover on make the car handle differently and if so how differently, like what would be the worst that could happen other then if I happen to get in another accident my car would be totalled.

no difference in the way it will drive. it willdestroy it if you wreck with the bumper(reinforcement bar, re-bar) missing. all the damage will go straight to the frame. technically the outer part is a bumper "cover" not actually the bumper. the re-bar is the violation of the bumper law. sounds like the re-bar and the energy absorbers are bent bad. frame damage unlikely. would've been a serious radiator/core support wreck to have gotten to the frame on a monte of that year.
yeah. radiator was replaced along with the heater core. and the frame is also bent a little. the bumper mounts are shot, the bumper is over like 3 inches total so i took it off to get the cover on ok so it just looks cool lol
