Default 06 ss check engine light

So I'm driving and my check engine light comes on. I scan the system and the code p0122 throttle control position performance comes on then goes off as I'm driving and another code was on that read to low lean fuel. Has anybody else had this problem

Well the throttle code was because of the wiring clip on the throttle body wasn't fully plugged in. Next was a code about the fuel running to lean. I took it to the Chevy dealership by my house they said with the 5.3L I should only use regular or plus gas because of the additives in premium will glaze the injectors so they replaced them. But that's what was causing my check engine light to come on.

Your own service manual requires the use of 91 (or higher) octane, and I believe that all of the gas stations no longer just put additives in the premium but all across the board.

Yeah really, that makes no sense. I'd go by the book before I went off what some service guys told you.

you can run regular in a pinch but check what the owners manuel said about the recomended fuel. regular shuld be used if in a hurting moment and im not sure if it is ok to use it on a daily basis

If the car requires premium, it would tell you in the manual. But also a sticker on the inside of the gasoline door.

Some states sell octanes as low as 85. And I'm not talking ethanol either. Most cars in the north american market are designed to run on 89 octane or above. Unless noted otherwise in your owners manual.

check your vent solenoid,,mine went out and caused my gas milage to go down the hill and run lean, was a 200$ piece but costed me over 800$ cause at 1st they didnt know the issue so took the whole engine apart. basically was a good thing cause now all my pieces are nice and clean.
