Default 04 SS Service traction light randomly

The past few days my service traction light, ABS, and trac off light are coming on randomly. It goes away most of the time if I **** the car on/off.

The only thing that changed recently was replacing my MAF sensor which resolved a issue I've been having for years if my car randomly stalling. I also put in the ac/cruise fuse in driver side panel. I had removed it 4 years ago because I thought it was draining my battery and once removed that stopped. Now it's been back in about a week and my battery hasn't been draining anymore so I don't think that's what caused it years ago.

Anyone have any tips for the service traction light?? I had this issue in the past and fixed it, just can't remember how. Thanks all!

For my 2001, it was a bad driver side front harness from the frame to the front hub. Since I repaired the wires, I have not had those issues. Others have had bad hubs. This is a common issue, search for service traction.

Best thing to do is start with having the code scanned. Not all code readers can read the ABS system. Once you have that code, you can use that information to target where to inspect for what needs done to fix the problem.

I have a 2005 Monte Carlo LT 3.8......I have ABS and Traction off lights are constantly on. Can anyone tell me how to determine if i have front and rear ABS brakes , and if i have harness's in the rear also .
Also a good source for buying the harness's needed.

Simply put, these cars are 4 wheel ABS. In order for ABS to work, each wheel has a speed sensor. Your best first step is have the ABS computer scanned for what codes are coming up. That will help target where to inspect for the repair.

Just got a scanner from DHGate.com. Only $40 and it has so many functions on it. Well see which abs pulls during the scan

i had the same problem on my 2002 LS with the abs/traction control light. it was a bad wire between the wheel sensor and abs computer.

I had the same issue with my 04, replaced the hub. that lasted for a week, same issue with traction control and abs light. It was the first 8 inches of the wire from the hub to the car. It moves every time you turn the wheels and the wire just broke down and increased resistance. Spiced in new wires and no issues with traction control or ABS since then (3 years 40k miles since my fix)

Had the same issue with my 03. The connector to the ABS pump was askew. Pushed it in all the way, and it's been fine since. This was after I scanned it and replaced the left front wheel bearing for nothing.
