6th Gen ('00-'05): 03 SS can't idle

I take it you did as we noted above, unplugged the MAF sensor and then it ran fine to prove the MAF was bad? If so, unplug the MAF again, and take the new one back for an exchange. If you bought a cheap MAF, it could be bad out of the box. If a new quality MAF does the same, then the issue could be elsewhere in the MAF circuit (wiring, pcm).
As long as it runs fine on MAP only with the MAF unplugged, that pretty much rules out any other issues.
I'd also not bother with continuing to unplug the battery, that doesnt fix anything. All it does is reset codes and fuel trims, it won't repair any actual issues.

after plugging in the new MAF (which im returning), the car will not successfully start no matter what i do. there'll be some pops but not enough to get it running. and this is with both with the MAF unplugged and plugged in. i fear that the new MAF did something to the PCM like shorting out a 12v rail or just ruined the PCM or something, but if that happened, i doubt the car would beable to turn over at all.
the wiring harness is one of the first things i checked when i noticed the problem.

idk how to do that. i dont have a job currently so im trying to do this a cheaply as i can without it being duct taped together
edit: if a fuel pressure and/or vacuum gauge can be had for like $20, then i could get it
edit2: ive found one for $24 nvm
