02 Engine harness
I hope someone can help me. The problem is I just finished putting head gaskets on my daughters 02 monte carlo 3.4. When I was finishing up I found a plug on the fuel rail harness that comes out from underneath the plenum just in front of the throttle body. It is a three wire plug w/purple seal the wires are red/white, brown/white, and black. For the life of me I can not find where it goes. I've had this car apart to this point before and didn't have this problem. My wives 05 Impala 3.4 doesn't have this plug I don't where else to look. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!

If there is a way you can post a picture it would help a lot. Unfortunately my 02 monte is not close by as I'm changing the transmission so I can't even run out and take a look lol.
If you can post a pic (not sure if you have enough posts to do so on the forum but if you put it on photo bucket and then post a link) then the members can see exactly what you are talking about and hopefully be able to help you out.

In the pic, I see two plugs with purple seals. The one where the wires are in a triangle formation I believe is for the IAT (located in the duct between the air box and the throttle body)..
The one I believe you are talking about in the center of your picture with the wires going all in a line, I'm pretty certain that is for the MAF (also located in the duct between the air box and the throttle body).
Both the '02 and '05 3.4 Impalas have a MAF (but GM may have changed the color coding between years).
Also, GM has done pretty good that all connectors are keyed so they only fit where they reach and belong (connectors sharing the same plug with the same key markings are not around other like connectors 99% of the time).
