Default 01 Monte Carlo ss, no low beams. Help!

My husband checked the fuses, we replaced the bulbs, made sure the parking brake was fully released, still nothing. My brights, turn signals, etc work.the multifunction switch does make the click when you pull it towards you to switch to hi beams.I've been reading it could be the multi function switch (turn signal/brights,etc.) or the pull switch on the dash. Any opinions/advice? How can I check them before forking out the money for any replacements?

If you have a multimeter or 12v test light I'd check the harness connections where they plug into the bulbs. Quite a few have had problems with the wire breaking (under the insulation) creating an open in the circuit. If the plug is bad, you can buy a replacement for under $10. You could also go to a wrecking yard and get one, but when it comes to electrical I'd rather buy new.

Ok I will definitely have my husband check that. Is it likely both harness' could go bad at the same time?

So I went out to fiddle with it while my husband was at work, and I wiggled the multifunction switch right next to where it goes into the steering column, and they turned on! So help me out, could the wires or connection just have gotten pinched or is the switch royally screwed?

wiggling the multifunction switch wouldn't really impact the wiring harness that plugs into it much at all. It's not likely that the wire got pinched. The wires to that switch are ran in a bundle to it so they're pretty stiff together and routed where it won't get pinched.

The more likely option is that the multifunction switch is on its way out. Those can be purchased on amazon and ebay for < $80.
