Default Origional Car Stereo

Looking for the origional 2006 Monte Carlo Stereo. When I bought mine they had put an aftermarket stereo in it and none of the steering wheel controls work. Want to go back origional. Thanks

There are adapter harnesses available that will restore the steering wheel functions if that is the only reason you'd like to go back to the OE stereo. If you do go back to OE reprogramming of the PCM will be required so the stereo will be recognized otherwise it will remain locked and inoperable.

As 03SSLE said, all you need is a harness. I believe the one for the 06' is called the gmos-01. It normally runs about $120 or so. My front right speaker in my 06' is starting to go out, so I may replace it soon, and if I do that I am going to replace all of them, and if I do that then I will swap out my radio for an aftermarket DDIN radio. So long story short, I may have an OEM radio for sale here pretty shortly if you are interested.

Do you have the factory part number for the head end? I have 4 or 5 stock head ends that might work & would be willing to part with cheap.
