I need to enlarge my work a bit more to help my detailing business take off..
So far as a start-up I've only done 3 cars & a tank for a oil delivery truck.

I'm currently looking for a car that needs alot of TLC, something that can really wow in the before & after, such as your daily driver that isn't your nice shiny monte. For example, I'm doing my moms black 08 ford escape that hasn't had a car wash in over 2 years.
Now I'm hoping your car you would be willing to make my test car isn't something of that extreme...Just something that needs to be brightened up a bit for a good portfolio.

My silverado needs it severely!...When we returned home from vaca in August..its just been sitting (havent cleaned it yet) Since we bought the siera custom, and now the mrs is useing it in all this weather. (since its 4 wheel drive). Its now snow and salt covered .

I know exactly what your trying to do, i tried the same it ended up being a flop...but let me tell you word of mouth has been my best marketing, make one customer overly happy and they will spread the word!

I started mine with an add on craigslist,
First customer car was a guy with a 69 camaro

Gave him a few cards and i have had calls from people he has told about me,

A guy around the corner from him saw pics on clist and had me come out
I have done his cars multiple times, he has had me come do his boss's vehicles, and has refered me to multiple other people!

Hey your further ahead than i thought lol, winter alone is a hard time of the year, freezing temps, snow & salt on the roads, i don't do any durring the winter becuase i do it on a mobile baises anyways, ( appartment living and apt single car garage so doesn't really cater to the detailing kind!)

I've been meaning to go around the mall nearby & place some cards on windows...Just no time to do it!

 

Sad to say but i wouldn't waist your time, just think if/when people leave stuff on your car, me 90% of the time i grab it and let the wind take it,

A few things i do and have got a few people out of it,

whenever we go out to eat, i leave my card in the Thing they bring your bill in, so when the come back for the reciept/cash tip, when tipping the bartender if i go for a drink,

The forsale/ect boards at some of the local grocerie stores,

Some resteraunts have a community board type thing that you can pin them to,
