Kansas City Internatial Raceway is closing in Mo
This is sad for me to write because part of my childhood is going to be torn apart for a park....they are closing KCIR and there is not another dragstrip in the area that I know of. Two or three hours away is Branson but nothing local anymore.

This sucks. I was going to hit it up in Spring. Looks like I will have to make a trip to Heartland Park in Topeka now. I wonder why they did it all shady like that. Emergency park purchase?

They build some houses around there and now the people are complaining about the noise. Seriouly, you don't buy a house next to an airport then complain about the noise and try to get the airport shutdown. This people knew they was buying a house near a racetrack and now they have gotten what they want....the track is going to be shutdown. To me, this is a very sad day, I have some very fond memeries of that track as a kid and as an adult.

Same thing happens by railroad crossings, people buy houses next to the tracks and complain about the noise. Like what else did you expect?

Saturday they will be open from 5pm to 9pm for Vamp racing and Sunday 1pm to 5pm for test and tune. I don't know but I am thinking of taking the Monte out there for Sunday. After that they don't know if they will be open for any other dates. So hopefully a grassroots movement is started and they are trying to fight it. So we will see.

Found out that on Saturday gates will be open at 9am....My friend and I are going to try to learn about this HP tuner so we can try to get a better tune on the Monte so, I can try to get her out on the "last" day the track will be open. Did a scan tonight and getting between 4 and 6 degrees of knock at wot...so need to figure out how to add some fuel cuz when it is knocking it is running lean.
