John Harvey posted that the hotel IS NOT sold out you need to use the right code MCO

John W. Harvey
John W. Harvey To All: It was brought to my attention today (February 23) that some folks are stating on another forum(s) that the host hotel is sold out. That is NOT true. I'm in contact with the hotel on a regular basis and just got an update this morning. There are still rooms available in our block of rooms. When calling the hotel, use 937-778-8100. When connected, select option "0". When speaking with the hotel rep, tell them you want in the "MCO" block of rooms.

If you are seeing the false information being posted on other FB sites or other DF's, please let them know that there are still rooms available. I don't have time to monitor or post on the many other forms of social media available.......

Not a huge fan of Harvey, "I don't have time to monitor or post on the many other forms of social media available.......", for some reason i get a weird vibe from him. Thinks he is above everyone. Even when i was on his FB Monte Carlo Club page he was a, well you know, and seems like he's still the same.

There is not a 3 room minimum - I just booked my room today for Fri June 24-Sunday June 26. You need to call 937-778-8100 and dial 0 during normal business hours.

They did not tell me 3 room minimum. Three night minimum is what they told me or they could not book me. I used the same date range you stated and that is the response they gave me. I dialed the above numbers and they got pretty short about it so it is not worth my time to argue with them. I will keep the reservations I have only a couple blocks away at a cheaper rate even.

I really don't think much of that discounted rate. When I searched the Comfort Inn website for hotels and prices, there was nothing to get excited about for $105 a night. I think it's just the fact they got the hotel to hold rooms for the event.

That's how I felt. I did the Monte Nat's when it was in York PA years ago and I stayed at the hosting hotel, it just made the most sense. I am wondering if this is just a really small hotel, the Monte Nats has a bigger then expected crowd or what else is going on. Honestly, I am concerned since it's held at the hotel, if the hotel is sold out, are they going to have room for all the cars?
I think I am going to contact the NMCOA, as the parking concerns me.

Jason: I booked a room with two beds if you want to split a room.
Thanks Barbara! I'm actually going to need a room with two beds, but if I am staying at a different hotel, I figure it best to stay where other Monte folks are going to be at.

For the record, I am looking to check in Friday, check out Saturday (I just can't stay and leave Sunday given the amount I am spending on the GM Nats and such). But I called on Sunday Morning, the 21st and did the 0 option to talk to the front desk. The person told me they were booked. They said even the block of rooms for the club was all filled, so they could not do anything for me if they wanted to.

Now I know this is not normal business hours, I just called again, spoke to another lady. She said the system well not let her book a room unless I am staying the full weekend, but she did confirm there are a few rooms still vacant at the hotel for that weekend. She recommended I call during the day, as the manager is the only one who might be able to over ride that.

So clearly, if others are having the same issue as me, there may be some communications issues going on between the hotel and people calling in.

I wonder if the NMCOA blocked the great part of the hotel. If so, that's good and bad. Good they secured it for members and BAD because people like me have to go through annoying hooks to get a room. I'll see what I can get during normal business hours this time.
