How does the third brake light come out of a 5th Gen? Mine is beyond filthy inside and needs to be cleaned - BADLY!!!!!

 

You need to remove the lower seat cushion, seat back, package tray, then the brake light housing. I believe there are some bolts at the front of the seat bottom that hold it in place, otherwise bottom cushions usually come out by pushing back and lifting up at the front. Seat back has a couple more bolts at the bottom then lifts up. Package tray slides forward to remove. Brake light housing attaches with clips that are unhooked from underneath (inside the trunk).
