Dont think its going to stop the changes, like i said i need to try my ipod and see if it does it with that. If my ipod does it too then i've got a wiring issue somewhere.

There is no pattern to it, sometimes there is a nominal amount of bass across all ranges and other times there is substantially more bass across all ranges. As if someone is turning the amp power up and down.
