Default Steering wheel radio controls

I removed my stock radio on my 2000 Monte Carlo SS and replaced it with an Alpine head unit. I wanted to know if there was a way to control the after market radio with my steering wheel controls ?

I havent installed one myself but Im guessing it will take a bit of work, but the wires are all color so it should be pretty easy.

They are really easy to hook up on a monte carlo. I have one in mine and all you have to hook up is power ground and tap into the data wire for the steering wheel controls. If you do it solder the wire from the control unit directly to the data wire. I used a scotch lock first and it had enough resistance just in that to cause the buttons to not work right all the time. Sometimes I would press vol up and it would track up stuff like that. But with it being soldered haven't had a problem since.
