Just curious about what brand of speakers the 6th gen monties are running that arent the bose speakers. They sound decent, but are they worth upgrading to a different brand?

personally i went with a full set of alpine type r 6x9 and 6.5" coaxial speakers mainly because i am biased towards alpine . also i went with 2 10" alpine type R's, which all combined is pretty awesome, highly recommend

if you do change them and intend to keep stock amp, you must get 2 ohm, otherwise it'll be very quiet, that deck stock has little output and the stock speakers are 2 ohms, so the output at 4 ohms would be pretty weak i imagine.

those RE's are verrrry nice speakers but wont get enough juice with the stock amp, those infinity references would be an upgrade, as would the JBL's. the focals would run very nice off that as well but i woud'nt recmmend that kind of speaker for somebody looking for a small upgrade :P but they would be veyr nice.

That's odd...when I replaced my speakers, the magnet said it was 4 ohm. Also, if you are right about the speakers being 2 ohm, then I can assure you that it isn't quiet. I will agree with u on the fact the factory amp is weak.

I have Infinity Kappa Speakers all around, and I am very happy with them, plan on sticking with them for every car I get...also have JL Audio subs in the trunk, and the same goes for them.
