Default Sound System Help

I currently have no sound in my 2002 LS Monte Carlo, I was wondering what could be the issue of this? I recently check my fuses and so far so good. I as well have Subs that are producing no sound as well. So could this be the after market head unit? Any suggestion will help.

Hi Member White 02 & Welcome to the Monte Carlo Family.

I'm not a Radio tech, but additional information might help our member's help you (?)

What type of head unit to you have ? Have you checked out all your wire connections. Do you have a electrical tester to see if there is current ?

Keep checking back on your thread & hopefully one of our expert tech's can help you....Good Luck

Default Update

Radio type: AVH-P3200DVD Pioneer

I also found out that my factory amp is good. The fuse behind my radio is fine as well. Other fuses check out. I heard there was an orange wire and ground wire by the passenger seatbeat that come undone I checked those as well they seem to be fine and all in place. Yes I do have a meter if needed.

I would check the wires leading from the headunit to the amp to the speakers. If the headunit is working properly something could have came apart there. Did you try a different headunit to see if it is just the headunit. I had one that went bad and would not produce sound anymore.

easiest way to check the deck is to pull it out and directly hook it to a battery and then hook up a pair of speakers and run through all the functions, such as cd, radio etc and see if you get sound. From there if it works you could always just run new wires from the deck to your speakers in the car. There could be a short somewhere along the way with the existing wires

Are you using separate amps for the woofers and the 4 channels? Is your head unit turning on? Imo with the info you provided, you have a head unit problem. If you are using the stock amp for inside the car and an Aftermarket amp for the subs or an after market amp for both, I don't see both going g bad at once. And since it has to be something common to both amps the head unit comes into question. Check you head unit output. Also check your speaker wires. If one positive speaker wire is frayed and grounded it will ground out all your sound.
