ok well i have new speakers new subs n amp and a head unit coming my way but the real problem is my subs they are just in a normal carpeted box thrown in the back of my trunk its boring i need ideas and cheap ones if posible i would like to find out how to build a box. i dont know anything so anything would help. i kind of like the idea of having the subs pointing up through the rear deck but i dunno if thats even posible

well, with things like this, you are only limited by your imagination. The cheapest, easiest way to get that "custom" look is to build a false wall. This wall will hide the fact that you have the subs in a regular box, and will make it look like a custom setup. Bolt the box in the trunk so it doesn't move around and then let your imagination take over as far as what you want the finished product to look like. The options are limitless.

As for the subs firing direction, having them fire up through the rear deck might look cool, but depending on your setup and the architecture of your car, may not sound very good. If you want the bass injected into the cabin, maybe you could port the box up through the rear deck, that would be a better option.

yeah just go with the ported box and the sound will be a lot better than pointing the subs up

Personally, I like sealed boxes better for sq reasons. But if it's heart-stopping, groundbreaking bass you want, ported is the way to go!

yeah i like rap so im going for the hard hitting bass but anyways today i played around with my subs and amp i moved them around and found the best spot for them but then i cam across one of my subss from my truck that i had not sold yet mtx 5500 10" i have 2 mtx 7500 in now and a alpine v12 100 watt amp but i was wondering if there was any way i could incorperate my 3rd sub with the same amp or something cheap let me know what u think thanks

The only way I'd say go for it, is if the specs on all 3 subs were the same, and if you planned on getting a custom box built to house them, and if you planned on doubling your current wattage. Other than that, don't bother, it'll sound like garbage.
