Default remote feed for amp?

I still have the stock head unit, but I managed to hook up a Fosgate amp and a couple 12s in the trunk. My only problem is that I cant find a good remote feed anywhere. I ended up hooking a toggle switch to the remote from the "radio" fuse, but I'd rather not have a toggle in the car. Ive tried several fuses, beween the delayed headlight and door relays I cant find that magic line. On fuse gave me power just great, untill I drove out of the garage into sunlight.... radio dimmed and amp shut off LOL! Any ideas?

You need to put up to walmart and get yourself a 'Line-in converter' this will take 4 or so wires and break them down into RCA jacks. Then you run your RCA's to your amp and the remote wire to the amp. Just follow the directions in the box to hook up the converter and it should work fine...
So what you need:
Line-in converter box
RCA cables
Piece of wire for your remote.

to get a remote that turns on with the key take a test light and ground it to the car someplace ,
Then with the cover in hand find the AIR BAGS put a peice of tap on this fuse or mark it some how so you dont hit it with the test light (this could cause the bags to deploy. NOT A FUN THING)

now take your light and with the key off go down the line of fuses and find a dead one.
Then turn the key on and find out if the power coems on with it.
if it dose and when you shut the key off it will go back out.
then you have found a good fuse to use as a remote wire for your Amp.

i belive with the old deck i used the cluster fuse for my remote wire .
this comes on with the key and gose off with the key.

Depends on the yr of the MOnte. Now with my car I can have the key out of the car and it will stay on (the deck) for 10 mins or till I open the door. If this is the with you car there is no way for the amp to follow that. THe stock deck contorlls that function. Tapp the acc wire under the dash to provide a 12v power source while the car is on the ACC or ON position.
