Default redoing audio system. need help

I own a 98 ls and it has stock speakers and a new kenwood cd player. I want to get new rear and side speakers. I just dont know what size and brand to get.

Also my car has a cassette holder in it. I want to know how to remove it and if theres anything i can put in its place.

I know for 98 has 5.25" speakers in the rear, but are you sure your have ones in front? The coupes have 3.5" front speakers but theyre were only made from 1978-1988. As for the cd player you can replace it with anything you want. Since its after market you already have the harness you need, however you may need to buy a wiring kit.

i have a 97 ls and i have 6x9s in the back and 5.25s in the front from the factory. as far as brand thats entirely up to you. to remove it its either a snap in type or it has a couple screws that are hard to find but as far as replacing it you're on your own on that because theres not really anything out there thats a direct bolt in so somethign will either have to be custom made or made to work.

I didnt think 5.25 in the rear sounded right, usually 5.25's go in the front for stock stereo's. They are 5.25 in the front, and 6x9's in the rear. Here is a link for the sizes, and if you need any info for wiring it up, incase whoever installed the Kenwood didn't use a wiring harness (witch I do NOT recomend). And as for brand, it is up to you. I would stick with a known brand, Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, nothing like Dual's or anything, you want something you can trust. Unless you want some comp stuff, but then your talkin big bucks.

lol sorry i meant front just decided to type rear, i guess. i put Infinity 5.25" speakers in my doors and replaces the factory tweeters with Infinity as well and it some of the clearest sounding stuff ive ever heard, and thats with just the amps comming from the cd player i can only imagine what a 4 channel amp would make them sound like.
