rear-view upgrade

Has anyone replaced a base package mirror (lights only) with one that has the compass, lights,and temp gauge? If I find one in a junkyard, will I have to get the harness as well?

I don't know anyone who has tried this yet. The compass may just work, but I beleive the temp gauge needs to have a thermometer as well.

See if the junk yard will just let you test it before purchasing it.
