Default Rear speakers

Having complications with rear speaker audio output, connected different speakers and still not working, must be a wiring issue. Checked the back of the deck and the wires are all connect there. If anyone knows what the problem is that I'm having please reply

I own a 2000 monte carlo. i had the same problem as you where the back speaker were not playing loud enough to hear when i have the head unit(stereo) balance between the front and the back speakers. the reason for the problem is that the speaker's in the back are not receiving full power. The back speaker should be running through a stock amplifier. Right now they are just running through the power given off from the head unit, only like 2 volts. When amplified they get up to around 350 watts. check to see if your car has a stock amplifier also known at GM parts as a "power booster", if it does that is your problem and you will need to replace it. Not all models will have a stock amp that came with your car, most do. The amp on the monte carlo is located on the roof of the trunk. The amp on the internet cost from 150- 400 dollars. call a local junk yard for the part, i got mine for 20. the amp will match the monte carlo and the impala of the same year.

You have an aftermarket amp?

You made sure all the RCAs are ran correctly and connected correctly to the amp? Is the power wire for the amp running near the RCAs?

Is the amp showing any indications of power? How are the terminals and and wiring to the speakers in the rear? Are the wires from the amp to the speakers all correct?

Fill us in on that and we may be able to help ya more

I have the original stock amp, the wires have been tampered with a little, so I was told, not exactly sure where at though. The wiring is running from deck to amp and from amp out to speakers. The front speakers work and the rear speakers don't, all the cords are original. I have hooked up rear speakers that I know are not dead, and still have not worked.

only the rear speakers of your car run through stock amp. your amp may be hooked up and all the wires look ok but the amp is fried. the amp goes bad and blows capacitors inside it. your issue is most likely not wiring, its the amp it's self. replace the amp, and your back speakers will receive power and play music.
