6th Gen ('00-'05): Rear Seat Half Delete for 12" Sub

Rear Seat Half Delete for 12" Sub
I'm getting rid of my old dual 10" subs because
a) they don't fit my trunk
b) they are old and have dropped in SQ so making a new box isn't worth it
I bought my brothers old sub/amp/box (really solid deal) and it's all JL Audio quality stuff here is my plan:
I want to have the sub facing into the car, was going to leave the seats down but it just looks ugly. Now I'm considering taking the backs out and leaving in the bottom piece so in a pinch I can still have people seat in it and just be careful not to lean back. I'm thinking of stretching a black fabric over the hole starting from the top of the plastic trim and tucking it into the side cushions. Obviously I would cut a hole out for the sub to show through. Not sure how well that will work out or look, just a thought right now. I only ever removed the entire back seat once last summer but I'm pretty sure the seat belts are still functional without the back cushions installed.
Any ways, here are some pics... I'm waiting for some warmer conditions because the new wiring is thicker so I need to drill a bigger hole to get to the battery and the garage is currently filled. Hate the cold.
My car with current setup:
My brothers car (same year) with the empty sub box
any suggestions on making it look good?

For the sub box I would recarpet it. It will look a lot better and cleaner. I don't know if I would take the whole seat out. If you do, to be honest, I would get a dual 12 inch or 10 inch subwoofer box and have it fit the whole length of the whole. It will fill in everything plus you wouldn't see the trunk from there. I used to have mine face the cabin but I found out it was louder facing the trunk.

I only paid $300 for:
500/1v2 - Car Audio - Amplifiers - Slash v2 - JL Audio
12W6v2-D4 - Car Audio - Subwoofer Drivers - W6v2 - JL Audio
+ all the wiring and the sub box which i'll repaint - i'll probably mess up any attempt at carpeting it
so I'm not looking at a different set-up anymore, I can't beat the price but I'll have to take the back seats out again to get some ideas

I have me back seat removed with 2 10" JL w6 subs in a ported box facing inside the car and then carpet around the whole area to make it look complete. I like it but my 2 12" JL w3 hit harder in a sealed box in the trunk facing away...

i thought about a cool custom system in my 2001 monte too but i didn't want it to like sloppy,i can share my idea with you if youd like,if the box has a port hole in it you can cut a hole on each side of the rear deckand run some tubeing from the port holes in the box to the port holes in the rear deck so you could feel the bass in the car without having to lose your seats,im replacing my bench seat with two rear bucket rx8 seats so il have more room to work with
