Default Question about my Car Audio

I own a 2004 Monte Carlo - Dale Jr. Edition and was wondering what is the maximum size I can go for my Stereo. Talking about touch screens

Also I have very little idea on which Amplifier I'm going to use. So I guess I am looking for your opinions on which route I should go, or any suggestions. I'm planning on getting subwoofers, an Amp, and a Touch Screen deck.

I don't need tons of bass or the best of the best. My price range is 500-1,000$ so help me out and give me ideas Thanks

Well any Double Din Screen will or should fit into the Dash. But a word of warning getting a touch screens going to put you at over $500 already if you buy a new one.

I would recommend getting a mono block amp for the sub(s). A 12" or a Pair of 12s or even 10s probably would suit your needs for subs.

Know any place online I can look for the touch screens?

Thanks, another question lol

The size of the subwoofer matter when it comes to listening to different types of music. I have a friend that tells me to get 10 " subs because I listen to more Rock. Sounds a bit retarded. Wouldn't it be more about the specs? and if it is, what should I look for? lol

edit: I see this
  • Peak: 2600 watts per pair, 1300 watts each
  • RMS: 760 watts per pair, 380 watts each
Let's say I was told to get at least 2,000 watts. Do I look at the Peak or the RMS?

I dont know about specific types of music to different subs, I never really bought that theory. But I would recommend 12s to most of those new to car audio because its the best all around most of the time as far as how it performs.

Also I dont know who told you about the 2000 whatts thats bogus too. You could have a 150 RMS sub and it still sound great.

The RMS is ONE of the most important things, especially to a newbie.

So since You have about $1000 max you want to spend. Pick out a good Head Unit(the Touch Screen you want) first, since thats seems to be the more important to you. Then we can look at an amp and sub.

Yes RMS is the most important thing. I learned that the hard way.

a 10" sealed will give you the best sound quality.

for decks, you could go with many, perosnaly, alpine, pioneer, sony, clarion are the mroe common. also jenson and the sort but i dont like those generic grands.

the pioner avic z-930 is coming out this month, along with the x930, (which is the deck im getting) their both pretty much the same deck, ones full touch, one has a **** and some buttons and doesnt slip down.

the new sony Navi units are probobly the most practical units right now.

Looks great and I appreciate everyone's help :P

Are there any touch screens with a usb port in front?

Like this one http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...GTV-X2HDG.html

It says "Expandability Features" is it already on it? And is there any way to find out which touchscreen will fit and what wont. I don't want to buy something that aint going to fit

I guess the USB port isn't a must since I could just burn my music onto a cd using the space and not the minutes

edit again : I like the 660 you posted. will it fit? :P
