Default Question about installing door speakers on 2007 LT

Bought my car a few weeks ago knowing front speakers were blown. Today I got a pair of Polk 6.5 for the front doors. Questions...

1- Do I have to have any new brackets or do any wiring to replace the blown speakers?

2- How do you remove the grill covering the speakers without any scratching/ damage?

I'm not an audio guy for sure. I've never installed any audio products.

Thanks for the assistance in advance!

Todd

You don't have to use any different brackets. You can just use the existing ones. To get to the speakers you have to take off the whole door panel to get to them.

Correct...The entire door panel comes off and reveals the speaker. Unscrew the speaker itself and replace with the Polk.

To remove the door panel, there are (2) phillips head - one at the top at mirror, the other holds the trim piece for the door handle and lock/unlock switch panel. There are also (2) Torx screws under the arm rest/door pull area. Once the 2 Phillips and 2 Torx are removed, carefully, but forcefully pull the door panel away starting at the bottom edge, working your way around to release all push pins. Then pull upwards to remove the panel. Be careful when removing the wire connectors...

Installation is the same, making sure the door panel tabs fit over the 4 metal tabs at the top of the door, then bang around the door panel to reinsert the push pins. Install the 4 screws and you're done.
