Question about HIDS

RE: Question about HIDS
You cannot just swap in HID bulbs, I have seen kits on Ebay for around $170 for the low beams. The kit includes a wiring harness with the proper circuitry to run HIDs, do a search for HID conversion you will find plenty of kits from different vendors. But as far as just swaping bulbs...no dice...If you are thinking of the HID look-a-likes, like Silverstars or Nighthhawks however those are just aftermarket bulbs that fit in the stock headlights. THose are just replacement bulbs and are fairly easy to install, I think the owners manual may have a how to other wise I know there is a How-To post on here that shows you how to change your lightbulbs.

RE: Question about HIDS
I just saw a post about a group purchase, although it was not in the group purchase forum. If you do a search for HID conversion kits it should bring it up. I think they were askin like $140 for the low beams and like $270 for lows and highs. But definitly check it out...it caught my eye I just dont have the money for any upgrades right now, I still have to get my tranny rebuilt.

RE: Question about HIDS
I found a site that has a pretty good sale price, http://www.pilothid.com/9006.html, I'm going with the 12000k.

RE: Question about HIDS
The conversion kit contains everything you need, the only mod will be cutting a hole in the rubber cover on the back of the housing for the wires to come out, which go to the ballasts. Overall, its pretty easy, and you will not be disappointed.

RE: Question about HIDS
Just remember if you are retrofitting your stock lights with HIDs you will blind people. There are special reflectors used in HID to concentrate the beam in a certain area as to not blind oncoming traffic. I was going to order out of the group buy too until I found this out. Just an FYI!
