Ya know, I heard that too, but after looking at the owners manual and calling Stillwater Designs (Kicker), they said it shouldn't make much of a difference

What would be the best way to mount it under the rear deck in the factory amp location? Just drill holes and use bolts/nuts to secure it? I figure bolts/nuts would work better than machine screws since it will be upside down. Only problem is it would be a pain to remove the amp since you'd have to pull the rear deck cover to get to the nuts.

I just used metal/self taping screws. Cut a piece of masonite to match the size and shape of the amp to cut down on vibration and rattling (if there ended up being any) and screwed her down...or up I did however take the rear deck cover off (not really that hard if you know what you're doing) to run all the wires...and give the inside of the rear window a good cleaning. Looks very clean and haven't had any problems in a little more than a year and a half.

Is that Masonite you're referring to sheets of wood?

I noticed Rockford Fosgate has a really small amp that should easily be able to fit under the rear deck:

there's some about the size of a wallet now too, like 300w RMS or something
