I've been looking for awhile into getting an aftermarket double din 7" touchscreen radio.And I would of had one by now but a few months back I bought a 350 gig storage drive which I want to connect to the radio I get. I'm stuck between this model pioneer avic-z3 which has no rear usb input and this jvc KW-AVX810 which does have a rear usb.I was told by a friend that worked at best buy that there's a 2way cable I can buy that plugs into the back of the pioneer and has a usb and ipod connection on the other end but he doesn't know a model number or where I can find it at.If you guys have heard of this cable or know where I can get one let me know.

they will have the cabel you are looking for. i have a the avic n4 singel din. basically the same thing and mine i belive has the usb on it or they show a cabel for it to hook up to it.
I do how ever know for sure it is compatabel with the usb devices . i just dont have the stereo or the info in front of me to find the inf for you. But i found the cabel threw Pioneer .com also found a AVIC web site do a serch for your model number and add chat room to the end of it it will come up with it there.

 

well I check on ebay and this is what i found I don't think it's the right one but close to what i'm looking for it only works on too specific units

 

I think this is what i'm looking for but it need to have a usb connection intead of ipod or both at one end

 

I was looking on Pioneer.com and seen the new releases for 2009 and they have a radio i'm looking for with a USB direct connect so I won't have to look for the cable anymore.The only down side is I have to wait until March for it to be released in retail stores.

I think so as well I was suprised to see how much it was going to sell for but I think it's reasonably priced for a unit without gps.
