It provided some entertainment, that's for sure!

 

I will put the title of my car on the line pitting my alpine 10" against your 8" for sound quality and db. and my enclosure is about the same size as yours.

I've done sq and db for quite some time now and the fact is an 8" cannot move more air than a 10" woofer and still sound good. alpine isn't even my favorite brand but it was cheap enough for what i wanted to do. Infinity has still been my fave.

 

 

Add another 10" and then maybe yours can compare to his rare sub/sub box setup that's running off 250 watts rms

It's comical to me that he would even make a comparison between an 8" sub and a trunk full of 12's/15's in regards to SQ. But either way, my goal is not to insult or offend him, it's to make sure those who don't know any better aren't misled by his deceiving posts about car audio by pointing out the inaccuracies.

 

JL IS THE WAY TO GO ITS THE BEST OUT THERE BY FAR NO ONE CAN BEAT THEM I mean people always talk **** about jl but COME ON DONT HATE ON JL

 

And if u have jls dont use any other amps but jl 500/1 or 100/1 u can have one 13.5 w7 and one 1000/1 and kill people who have 3 4 5 6 7 dif subs in there car with one i have always use jl thats the way to go

debatable, theyre are highly priced, sound awesome, but i would compare my type-r to some w6's that ive heard (a friends), and its real close and at a better price. just my opinion here tho.

LOL. JL Audio makes good stuff, don't get it twisted, but it's not soooo good that it warrants the ridiculous prices that go along with it. Example, the 1000/1 amp, that thing costs at least $1000 at an authorized dealer. And no matter what your voltage is in your ride (so long as it's at least 11v and not more than 14.5), you're still only going to get 1000 watts rms out of it!

My Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D costs $500 direct from the manufacturer, and will do rated power, 1500 watts rms @ 12.4v, 1600 watts rms @ 12.8v, both @ 1 ohm...but then drop that to .5ohms and you'll get 1600 watts rms @ 11.8v and 1890 watts rms @ 12.8...but then get real crazy and drop that to .35ohms (do that with a JL 1000/1!) and you will be amazed with 1748 watts rms @ 11.8v and 2245 watts rms @ 12.8v.

I don't know about you, but I'd much rather spend half as much and get over twice as much!!! These Sundown amps are made with the highly regarded Xenon boards, sound great and look just as good as they sound! Another sick thing about this amp is that it's strappable, meaning you can daisy chain two of them together and will end up spending the same amount of money as you would have for that JL 1000/1 but will end up with almost 4x as much power (3740 watts rms @ 1 ohm 12.8v)!!!

That's not hating, that just plain old reality!
