Default new car stereo help needed

ok guys (and gals) so i just bought a new stereo for my monte...i have the bracket ready and the wiring is pretty much done too. I have it wired to the point where it should be working...all power and speakers and remote wires..but i plugged it in and it has power, but no sound. i pulled a wiring diagram from mitchell and it is a mess. from what im gathering, all wires run through the amp in the trunk...can i keep that without by passing it? i.e. what wire turns the amp on (remote wire) any help is appreciated thanks

im not sure if im understanding this right but ill try to help you out here lol

the power is straight off the battery, the ground is to the chassis

but if the amps just not turning on you need to run a remote wire, there should be a seperate wire for it, on my deck it was blue with a cap on it, then you can branch it off from amp to amp.

oh just reread that, um, if you look on the wires of the harness itself, it should say on there, i think there's either 2 or 4 wires for it

there are two wires that are possibilities...there is a amp sensing that connects straight between the two...or there is a amp control that goes from the amp to a junction block and then comes back through the ant enable

Are you sure the amp isn't turning on? If you connected your speaker outputs on the aftermarket headunit to the stock amp's signal wires, it might be going into a potect mode because the speaker outputs on the headunit carry much more power than an amp's signal wire should.
