Default Need Kicker Suggestions

Hi guys,

I made a post a while back about getting a new sub and amp setup. I work at Worst Buy and have an accommodation through Kicker for some serious cash off all their stuff. I had a 12" MTX 4500 with like a 150 rms amp and it was pretty loud because it was in a big Thunder box. So I am looking to get either a new 10" or 12" Kicker. Need some suggestions though, cuz I don't want anything too loud, just really clean and crisp. No L7's lol! Open to suggestions just please keep it Kicker cuz I can get it cheap!!

as an employee of worst buy you also get a rather hefty JBL discount, pick up the MS-8, i guarentee you will not be disappointed.

if you run the L7's sealed you'll get a really good clean sound. but ask if you can get a discount on JBL speakers as well, because if they can order you in a jblw10gti mkii you'll get exactly what you're looking for.

Cool, those look like they are supposed to have no distortion and real clean. Should I got with a sealed box for those or what about a ported one? I can get a nice one at like 300% off.

the jbl's i assume you talk about? yes they have little distortion, but they aren't completely perfect but for the money their the best sub out their. I love my w12 gti mkii, and im an audiophile i run like 4000$ in gear so you wont be let down with that sub.

I'd say ported perosnaly, unless you go wit the ms-8, the ms-8 adds quite a substantial amount of bass. but it might just be easier to go sealed. sealed you'll need to run it more in the 800-1200 watt rms range, ported more in the 400-700 range. it all depends on what you're feeding it

shame you dont live in PA i'd do the install for ya too :P

Well after working today I decided the JBL stuff was out of what I wanted to spend. I decided to go with a single 10" Alpine Type-R since I listen to a lot of rock music. I installed everything in about 45 minutes and wa-laa. EXACTLY what I was looking for, absolutely love this setup.

Here's some pictures of it installed and I got it to look VERY clean.

Default Too little... Too late...

I just noticed this thread and I was going to recomend a system that I had for a LONG time. It's a relatively compact bandpass that I used to LOVE. Good luck with your new setup!
