Well i had an aftermarket radio got rid of it and bought a different one for less money. Well i go to put this one in and no power to it so i think bad wiring connection nope not it. I try by factory radio it lights up and everything but the main screen that says the time and stations all that stuff does not turn on. What could be causing this?

idk almost every aftermarket radio has a fuse of two in the back of it. if you installed the newest one with the battery connected it could have blown that fuse. hopefully its a 10 cent fix, either that or i would take it back were you bought it from. 5 percent of all electronics are faulty.

i dont understand the first post so you,
1 put in an expensive unit, worked fine, took it out
2 tried the factory radio, and it doesnt light up
but you want to put another headunit in but cant get any power to it nor the factory radio

I had an aftermarket headunit jensen flipout i didnt need the screen so i sold it to a friend. I went out and bought a alpine for 150 and went to put it in and it didnt work i tried everthing. Thought it was the headunit so i put the stock one in and it only light up the dials and numbers not the screen

just look up your make and model and go to the very bottom its should guide you through making the connections.
