So the monte carlo is back on the road but its displaying a locked message on the head unit. How can i reset it? Its a 2001 Monte Carlo ss fully loaded.

Sounds like its having a theftlock problem, i believe you have to take it to a dealer so it can be reprogramed

 

You'll probably have to take it to the dealership and have it unlocked. That's the security lock that comes on so the headunits can't be stolen and used on other cars.

The dealership will have to use a Tech II to unlock the unit.

 

Damn thanks guys really did not want to take it to the dealer but what are you gonna do.
