@Bait - No need to wait to add the amp until you get the head unit. Your amp will work more efficiently and the SQ will be better once you do get the new head unit due to the increased signal strength but until tax time next year you can still do the upgrade and be happy.

Unless he doesn't want to bypass the factory amp to get the signals, just asking for more of a pain and spending money/time to get signal to the new amp when all he'd have to do is run RCAs when he gets the new headunit.

Also, if you really want to chose that route, don't get the bypass plug, bypass it on your own, wire the wires together, that's all the plug does, save yourself $30-50.

Bypassing the amp is as difficult as this, unplug the connector from the amp, insert bypass connector, done. Takes all of 5 seconds. The bypass plug can be had all day online for less than $10 so i'm not sure how he'd by saving himself $30-$50 if he were to do it himself, which would

a.) Cost him more than buying one if he were to buy the large connector, contacts and wires needed, not to mention a soldering iron and solder to complete the job if he doesn't already have one.
b.) Be a more permanent solution resulting in modification of the original wiring harness.
c.) Take incredibly more time and cause way more stress during the process.

Getting signal to the new amp is as simple as connecting both rear speakers to a LOC and running rca's from the LOC to the amp. which would set him back a whopping $10<---click me and since he's gonna have to run rca's from the aftermarket deck when he gets it he might as well get the one's he's gonna need then, now.

**Edit**
Since he's already got the LOC, he'd only be spending $10-$15 for the bypass plug (including shipping).

Bait, I say go for it! The only reason not to go for it is if your intention is competing and being competitive in an SQ competition. Other than that bro, nobody is gonna get in your car and take a listen and go "wow man, you must have a LOC hooked up, that sounds horrible!" It'll sound significantly better than you current setup and will hold you over until you can upgrade your deck, once you get your deck you'll have more control over the sound, will have a stronger signal going to your amp and can reset your gain on your amp (resulting in a lower gain setting) due to the much better signal it's getting.
