I just ordered a Kenwood Excelon amp to go with the new speakers. Gotta get some new door speakers first, before I put it all in. Should I get Kappa components for the front? Or can I use some 2ways? The amp I got makes 100wattsx4 rms @2 ohms, hope it sounds good......

you should get the kappa components, but you might have better luck with them in the back. The kappa components up front would be great, except i've heard its really hard to find a spot to put the tweeter, because of its deep mounting depth. you'll have to get real creative. If you decide to go that way, let me know how it goes because i've been planning to get these for my car but cant figure out a way or where to put the tweeter. Might just get kappa components for the back and mount the tweeters angled forward. I think this might sound the best. Highs coming from behind you in my opinion arent and tinsy. little bit more clear and crisp. probably just got with 2 way kappas up front, 6x9 kappa components in the rear. the 100 watt x 4 amp should make it sound really clear with depth.

A few things come to mind here.

One, watch the new speakers ratings as far as power.
Speakers than can take alot of power lack response if underpowered.
300-500 watt capable speakers will not sound like they could with a stock unit etc.
Rounds will produce better bass response than ovals.
The more ovate a speaker is, the worse the bass response will be.

NEVER suggest to people or listen to anyones speaker suggestions as anything with merit.
Just get a list of better ones people are suggesting and GO LISTEN FOR YOURSELF.
My ears are not your ears.
My hearing range is different than your hearing range.
My tastes for bass are not your taste for bass and etc.

And car stereo ratings as for power ARE FULL OF IT!!!!! HIGHLY!!!

Watts= Volts X Amps
That can't be argued at all PERIOD!!!

I insalled infinity reference 6.5 components in the doors. the drivers and tweets bolted right in to the stock mounts. I ran new wire to the amp and hid the infin crossovers under the plastic panels that hide the dash bottom. I also ran new wire from the door to the crosover. the reference series is as good as kappas and will fit in the door without mods. try hi-fi sound connection.com for the best price I was able to find. the stock amp has an internal crossover for the front components and you should grab the signal for the front before it goes thru the stock amp and then connect to new amp and then go thru infinity crossover.
