Default Ignition Switch Question / Cruise Control Light

All,

My Cruise Control Light just recently started coming on and off and in return my aftermarket radio cuts out as well as my climate controls and overhead display. After some research, I am pretty sure the ignition switch is the culprit. I think I am going to bite the bullet and take the gamble on buying a new one and replacing the one I have right now. Unless you guys think it could be something else, but everything I read points to this as the problem.

My questions are:

A. Can I just order a new one on-line or should I order it through the dealer. This may be a dumb question but how do I know my existing key will work in the new switch?

B. Do I really need to take apart the entire dash to remove the switch? Or is there an easier way to just pull out the switch and replace it?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

JK:
Getting a new ignition switch is available via the dealer and or ebay...

Youll have to take it to a lock smith to have it keyed to match your vehicle.
Or have a lock smith re key everything else to match/use for the rest of your car..

This video should take care of R & R for your ignition.

I installed a Dorman 924-701 switch purchased from Amazon. Turns out it is the same switch that Chrysler uses. Fit perfectly and fixed those weird issues including one no-start incident. Once you get the old one out crack it open and see the 2 burnt contacts causing your problems.
