I have been having problems with this forever. I recently bought a pioneer p8200bt headunit from crutchfield. I used the gmos-04 wiring harness from crutchfield as well. My audio sounds like CRAP. I bought some brand new 80 dollar speakers from crutchfield thinking this would help... Not at all. I did alot of research and found that peole have had the same problem and the only way to fix it is it bypass that factory amp. Can anyone tell me how to do this? i found a byupass kit for 30 bucks but after spending all this money i do not want to spend another cent. I know it is possible i just dont know how to do it

Talked to my audio tech presently installing my aftermarket system. Told him your question and he replied most places that install audio systems and best Buy etc. sell a factory amp bypass plug for about $15.00.
The factory harness is unplugged at the amp and the bypass plug is now installed between the amp and the factoy harness. He said you could possibly damage your speakers so dont crank it to loud untill you get to know what your doing, make sure your radio is turned down when you shut it off before you do the bypass. Apparently it does make your system sound better with out the amp with certain music types.
Hope this helps somewhat. You can always consult an audio tech in your area, bet they would be glad to help you with a solution at a car audio store. Good luck

Figures...i go to my local audio store, they tell me i have something wired wrong and that for 60 bucks they will "take a look at it". They dont just want to sell me the bypass they want to charge me 60 bucks to tell me that i need a bypass then charge another 15 for the bypass

You don't have a problem, you have a 2004 and the bypass harness only works for the 2000-2001. In 2002 they changed the wiring at the amplifier and no one that I know of makes a harness for it
You can cut & splice following the pinouts I gave on NAIOA

not if you just run the speaker wire from the trunk down your corner panneling, its pretty easy, back seat opops up pretty easy, run it around the corner, pick up the corner of the rear side panel in the back seat, slide the wire under. pull up the front floor corner penels run the wires. than just get some tape and tape them together and a piece of wire, and take apart your door panel and fish it through. i'm amusing you know how to take apart the door panel.
