HELP MY LIGHTER DOESN' T WORK
My front lighter doesn't want to work I checked the fuses in the drivers side panel and on the passengers side panel and they are both good. Does anybody know of any other fuses or do I have to replace my lighter ? If I have to replace the lighter do I have to remove the center console or can I just pop it out from the front ?

Hi Manny,
Do you have a electric tester to see `if there is power
to the cig lighter ? Sometimes the socket or lighter itselfgoes bad,
and it needs to be replaced. You can find them at your local parts store.
Also places like AutoZone will test for you.
If it is the socket, make sure your disconnect the battery.
Good Luck, `Space

well crap, coulda sworn... but yea drivers side panel only...
try checking for power at the fuse with a test light. then at the socket using a ground other than the grounded part of the socket. last check at the socket using the grounded part of the socket.

just make sure what ever you do that you dont test teh fuse for your air bags!!! IT could blow them on you and it is not a cheap repair.
I actually have a small peice of tape on that fuse so i dont cause anythign to hit it by acc.
But you can also check the connections for it.
they are in the center council . to get it off .
1. pull down the leather shift boot carefully.
2. set E brake
3. push clip out of shift handel at the top of the shift lever with small screw driver or a awl (even a nail will work good)
4. pull shift handel straight up.
5. then in the center council at the front (under the dash) pick up the rubber mat.
6. pull the one screw out of it there.
7. open up center cubby.
8. gently pri up on the top part of the councial with a screw driver or anythign you can to pull up on it.
9. once it is up you will see two plugs under there where the heated seat switchswill plug in if you have them (if you dont they have power to them great keyed power switch )
but the cig. lighters can both be reached there and you should beabel to see the wires there eaily enough. if you ya need to do it you cna change them out easily also.
Good luck!!

RE: HELP MY LIGHTER DOESN' T WORK
the bad part is this is not the source of the wireing i belive it is up under the dash there is a plug there for it behind the stereo or in that area.
If this is the case you can either rewire it and cut the harnes. OR
youcan go to a bone yard to find one and get the whole thing.
OR my fav.
Rewire it but you cut the old harnes that is bad up and get teh plugs on it then rewire it with those int here so it looks and functions like factory
