Which lock?
Door or ignition?
What brand was the MFS you replaced with? I've heard of a lot of premature failures with aftermarket ones.
Could be a DRL issue. Have you checked the DRL fuse in the engine compartment?
Put the parking brake on and off a few times to see if that makes a difference (see headlamp circuit description in thumbnail below).
Here's the DRL circuit description, headlamp circuit description, headlamp circuit schematic, and headlamp troubleshooting guide from the factory manual.

If it turns out to be the MFS, since I don't believe those require a core return, I'd crack an old one open and see what might be going on inside.
In the '99-'05 Grand Am world, I had an issue on my '04 of the flasher module making a random click (like I activated the turn signal, except I never did). I was getting ready to replace the MFS on that car, then I found a free fix. The issue was caused by old/dirty die-electric grease building up. Over years of the switch being used, the grease was dirty and globbed in areas. Thanks to the dirt, it would make a very weak connection on the traces used to activate the turn signal, end result a brief click noise.
Answer, rip apart, clean everything and re-apply a tiny amount of die-electric grease. All fixed.
Maybe something similar is happening in your case.

George.
If your talking about the keyless entry fob you're shopping at the wrong place for OEM original ones. I've bought a few on eBay.
Here's the one for your car under $20: New Original GM 10443537 Remote Keyless Entry Key Fob Free Programming Included | eBay
I've never heard of a fob causing headlight problems though.

OK so on my way back from it nationals yesterday I had no head lights, lucky I made it back before it got dark, I'm thinking it was the multifunction switch but this about to be my 3rd time replacing this....This is annoying, I'm thinking unplugging it and re plugging it, it's only about a year old they shouldn't be going like this

Also make sure the fuse for the horn is still good, that was an issue I had when I first got my car

I would be curious if you can dis-assemble a bad/failed MFS and find what is going bad in them (and if it can be fixed).
But sadly, the MFS is my first guess.
