Default Gas pedal cover

Today I got some new gas and brake covers from walmart. The brake cover came off easy I'm having trouble getting the gas pedal cover off. Has anyone changed there gas pedal cover? If so how do you take off the plastic cover?

I've never taken mine off. I like having a surface that my foot can't slip off of.

Below is a pic of the covers on my Monte. Easy to install, they just basically slide over the original pedal. I also have a set on my '84 Camaro (which has a clutch pedal). I've never had an issue with my foot slipping on a pedal. I've only had rain water on my feet for the cars with these, as these cars don't see snow.
