Default Front Speaker Removal

My 2006 MC has developed both static and an hiss that appears to be coming from the front passenger speaker. Also sometimes this speaker seems to 'shut off'. I suspect a loose wire or something like that, i would like to just remove the front speaker grill and look at the speaker to see if there are any loose wires, but i don't know how to remove the grill. I am afraid to do anything without knowing how to remove it, because I could break it by accident.
So does anybody know how to remove the front speaker grill from a 2006 Monte Carlo.

You need to remove the entire door panel to get to the speaker. there will be push pin/clips on the sides and bottum and should be a scre under the door handle.

Thanks, thats what i was afraid of. I have had some bad luck in the past removing door panels, the never seem to go back together 'tight'. I wonder if the warranty will cover this?

yea the door panels are real easy to remove. first take all the screws out that are visable. then just start unsnapping the clips around the outside, disconnect your power windows and locks and the panel should just fall right off. ( i know this cause i replaced both of my factory speakers)

The one thing about the clips you should know, they tend to break when removed. They are called "Christmas Tree Clips" by some body men because of their shape. Most dealers keep them in stock. You might want to have a few extra on hand before pulling the panel off.

do you have the stockamp, that is located in the back of the trunk? If so, the intermitten connection problem could originate there. also, if you do indeed have the stock panosonic amp in the back - they all have a loud amplificationhiss which no one els can really hear and it drives me crazy.
