my w7s rattle the hell out of my trunk because i have a ported box. my subs are hooled up with a 4000 wat quantom audio amp
Sounds like my audio guru's were right on the money! Glad I got the 12W6s. I can blow out my ears with these as it is. The JLAudio 1000/1 has plenty of power for them. The wife HATES them. I keep the bass high enough to sound good, but I don't get rattling. My rear view mirror drops when I turn it up tho!

I am looking into going with one cerwin vega 12 inch stroker sub powered by 1000 watts rms with a custom blow through box

I am gonna need to dynomat the whol trunk and car for this though

and will add a gell cell kinetics battery to power the stereo only followed with a capacitor as well.

I recommend upgrading to a optima battery or knetics battery and cap to eliminate the dimming situation, also its more power so the stereo sound will improve as well and will last you many years.

My last optima battery with three different systems lasted 3 years and lasted another year or two without the stereo.

You can get kinetic batteries at a very good price at www.onlinecarstereo.com

sorry about the 6 month bump but this particular thread is where i should have been 6 months ago.

most of you guys who posted in this thread have JL 12w3-w7 ...... and its certainly safe to say we all are driving monte carlo's. did you guys order a custom box for your JL's to fit in your monte's???? i have 2 jl 12w7s but i need a good ported box tuned at 32hz. i almost bought one from a guy who had it in his yukon but it was too long and didnt fit in the trunk. is there anyplace online u may have ordered your box? or did u have it custom built ina local shop or sumthing?

thanks guys
