That was about the best I could describe what is wrong with my 2003 MC with 27,000mi. There is a non-stop dinging sound that will not end, even when the car is turned off. Matter of fact, the non stop dinging is now dinging all day and night and it is draining the battery to the point where I have to jump start it if the car sits for more than 2-3 days. The dinging sounds very similiar to the dinging chimes when your seat belt is not engaged, but not exactly the same sound.

I've changed the battery, reset the computer system, pulled the stereo fuses...and nothing works. All of the doors and windows and hoods and trunks and safety belts are all engaged properly. The non-stop dinging is taking a toll on my sanity, and I need all I can get. If you have had similiar problems or might know is wrong I sure would appreciate any advice you can provide. i would check every fuses in the car,and then move up to the ignition,thats what i would eliminate first then if thats not it check all door and trunk locks that would make the car ding if you where driving with a door open

If you know the RADIO CODE, ... Disconnect the Battery for 30-Minutes.

I would get a Spray Can of ... Electric Contacts Cleaner. From RadioShack. The kind that CLEANS Contacts, ... then, evaporates and disappears.

I give the IGNITION Switch a good dose of that stuff with the Plastic Tube shoved right into the IGNITION.
