thanks for all the replys. i lost this thread and just saw them today.
i feel ya on getting a nice deck, but i dont know what one will look like in a double din opening in my car.
i know a double din will fit nicely, but the one i want is like a grand. its the new 920 from pioneer.
either that or the dnx6960 from kenwood.
ive been looking at the older 9xx[x] series from pioneer. i know they have the best sq and most options. they just have lower res screens.
i almost got a 960mp the other day on ebay. i went up to 270 and some guy must of had auto bid on and beat me by 1 dollar. i know its like a 800 dollar deck. this was used but in great shape. i wasnt gonna go any higher then that.
so i ahve an hour left, and i think im gonna go for it.

ah ha i bought it.
lol nobody else bid on it. whatever. i got it for 125 plus 10 for shipping. it looks brand new. well see. anyways its a 300 plus dollar item.
SCORE it might be on the classified sections in a week. jk
im deffinatly gonna try it.
ok so this is my problem.
i split the front right RCA so the left would be cut out. {dang amplified chimes} so im basicly running mono right now. is there any way of professionally deleting the chimes, w/o buying the 150 dollar harness?????

Pull out the speaker in that door and disconnect the speaker wire plug that goes in to it. Connect your own speaker wire and run it to the back of your deck. Find what wires on the harness of the stereo would go to that speaker and connect those wires to the new speaker wire you just ran. Problem solved!

i had new speaker wires ran from the amp to all 4 speakers. thats not it. it comes from the driver side signal in the cd player itself. i was just wondering if it was a certain wire that i can cut.
i know with the harness it diverts the chimes to a small, unamped speaker. which could be bearable. lol 75 watt chimes are nuts.

I'm going to relocate my factory head unit and put my P880PRS back in. Last time I had it in there I had chimes via the interface harness. This time I won't have the module in there since i'm keeping the factory deck but no speakers will be running off it so i'm assuming I'll be good to go with no chimes. If you go aftermarket and get a new deck and get rid of your factory deck, you won't have chimes unless you hook up that module.

But it's that investment in time that will keep that Kool-Aid smile on your face when you get in and turn the music on! Wanna talk about hours spent on tuning? Try running a 3 way active setup! That's what i'm doing and it takes alot of seat time to get it dialed in just right, not what I'd call fun but it's what's needed to get the end result I want.
