Factory Amp
Is it possible to replace the factory Amp using the factory wiring. Does the factory amp hook to the front speakers? I would like to get a aftermarket amp and hook it to the four speakers using the factory head unit. Would a four channel amp be required for this? Any help would be appreciated.

1. No

In order to replace the factory amp with an aftermarket while retaining the factory deck you will need the following:
Power wire
Ground wire
Remote lead wire
speaker wire
one set of RCA cables
4ch line out converter
The only problem I can see with running the stock speakers off a 4ch amp is the lack of a xover on the front tweeters. If you connected the fronts in parallel you'd run into an issue of frequency response, unless you turned the xover high enough to prevent the tweeter from distorting.....but then you will sacrifice midrange. I would highly suggest replacing your stock speakers at the same time, that way you can either get some nice coax speakers for the front or a set of components that way you'll have better sounding speakers and xovers that will make sure the speakers get the specific frequencies they're built to play.

04Montels, you seem to know what your talking about. So with that, can you draw me a diagram of how the components should go? headunit-xover-amp-speakers? Due to the door chime, would it be best to run different speaker wire to all four. These might sound like dumb questions but I would rather not learn as I go along, but would prefer to do it right the first time.
Thanks again...

I'm not looking to add a sub, I just want to be able to turn it up a little so my neighbors could hear my ac/ad and metallica and so on. Couldn't I just get a amp with high level inputs? What would be a good watt amp for this application?
