Default crossover help please

hi i want to get a crossover, but have no expirience with them and saw this, just seeing if its the same thing???

http://cgi.ebay.com/MEMPHIS-AUDIO-EQ...item2a06df1fc6

i know they make an x03 model if that will not work.

i like the look and feel of the factory 6 disc and dont really want to put a shinny HU in there, that makes it look wierd.

will that or a crossover make it sound better and is it worth running something that nice on a stock HU. should i just save up for a nice pioneer???

you are able to put a system to a stock head unit my buddy has one in his 09 Cobalt SS Turbo charged.... his amp is hooked up thru crossovers to the rear speakers in the trunk i dont really know how he has it done but you can do it without changing the head unit

i have a converter/line driver that turns the speaker wires to rca's.

i already have one directional crossovers on my amp. this one will make it so i can isolate the freqencies.

ie mine now only goes 50 and up or 250 and down for the speakers.
with that i can cut it to 75-2000, and phase out anything below 75 and above 2000.

i understand what it does but was wondering if it would be worth it, or if i should just get a aftermarket hu, which i really dont want. i like the clean look.

That piece wouldn't be too bad cause it'll increase the output signal as well which will result in better SQ. If you go that route you could end up with very good SQ for alot less than a nice Pioneer would cost you while retaining the stock look. I say go for it.

The only thing that I don't like about your setup would be that you can't do any time alignment....not sure if you know what that is but it basically allows you to dictate how long the sound from each individual speaker takes to reach your ears. Ideally, the sound from each would reach your ears at the same time but since each one is mounted at a different distance, they don't. In that case, a nice Pioneer would be the way to go cause like on mine, the P880PRS, I can run 3 way active, do time alignment and all that all through my deck, no need for any passive xovers or other external one's like what you posted in the first post.

Up to you though.
