Considering upgrading rear speakers, would more be needed?

Default Considering upgrading rear speakers, would more be needed?

I'm considering upgrading the rear 6x9 speakers in my 06 SS. Not going to do this right away, will be a summer project most likely, was wondering though if anyone had any suggestions on if the speakers alone would make that much of a difference?
Or if the stock amp, head unit or anything else like that would need to be replaced, or added like a sub, to get the full potential out of the speakers themselves.
Also some opinions on speakers themselves would be great, after doing some reading it seems infinity kappa's are really great, and cost wont really be a problem, definitely want to do it right, but of course get the best speaker for the buck, no sense overpaying for a name or anything like that.

Any opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys, and gals!

I like kicker, rockford, and alpine (and alpine is mostly for decks). IDK why those are the 3 i always stick with, i know there are other good brands out there, but i can't say i've ever had a bad experience with the 3 above.

Hit me up if you need any help getting to the rear dash or getting that receiver in. I've had pretty much my whole interior out of both my 02 & 06, so it seems to take 1/2 as long as it used to.

I know the process..but still like you said, once you have done it once or more its always easier..

Any other opinions on speaker brands?
