Clicking Noise In or Around Steering Wheel
I have a clicking noise coming from what seems like my steering wheel. It's not an ISS "clunk," been there, fixed that. And it's not my flashers button, it's had it's issues and been changed. The click isn't aggravated by any particular conditions, and it just seems to come and go. It's not the same clicking noise a turn signal, it sounds more like a solenoid opening or closing.
It's mildly annoying and since I can't repeat it intentionally, it's nearly impossible to troubleshoot.
Any thoughts on solenoids that would be in or around my steering wheel?

Heres something to try to make it repeat...
With the heater controls on cool, Try turning the A/C on and off and see if it comes back.... or with no heat or A/C on...
I have noticed on both my vehicles i also get that intermitten clicking sound...but its not real loud..its kinda faint...
Found out theres like 4 solenoids that control the flappers from dash, vents, floor etc...that are clicking...1 of them is by the steering column... theres 1 in the middle and 2 others near around the glovebox area...
Hope this helps....Just an idea of something to checkout

None of the AC/heat controls made the noise. I was able to make the noise by turning on my rear defroster except that the noise comes from the glovebox area when that happens. So, the type of noise is repeatable, but it's in a different location, but it's the exact same noise. So maybe if someone knows why my rear defroster would click it could tell me more about what might be around my steering wheel.
STUMPMI, I suspect we're hearing the same noise.

There's a couple of relays in the dash on the driver side. One is located in the fuse panel, and the other behind it. It's possible that one of those is energizing and the sound is radiating through the dash making it sound like it originates from the steering wheel area.
I was watching 2 guys garage and found where those relays were located...
Maybe,
I would consider checking it out on you tube and see if there isnt something about it on there..
I didnt bother to replace them since there not doing it all the time and its so faint when it does..That I dont believe theres a real issue with them since everything continues to operate normally... and its not really bothersome to me....
But I do understand...That on some models...You may have to tear the dash half apart just to get to a cpl of them...
Hope this helps...

I had clicking noises on my '01 SS LE, but I don't THINK this is your problem. Mine clicked primarily when I started the car, and my lights flickered at the same time. My problem was the BCM, or Body Control Module.
